      What is Operation Oak?

      Operation Oak is a partnership between Northumbria Police, Council Wards and Newcastle’s two Universities, through which we fund additional police patrols in residential areas which have high numbers of students, such as Jesmond, Sandyford, Heaton and Ouseburn. 

      Operation Oak is on call during term time to support students, and permanent residents, on matters such as safety, noise complaints and tackling crime. To report an incident, please call 101.

      While many permanent residents feel that Oak is for them, to call out the police to attend noisy parties, Operation Oak is also in place to support students.
