Take-home exams

How long am I expected to spend answering a take-home exam?

How can I alter the appearance of a take-home exam? For example, screen resolution, colours, font type, font size, brightness?

I have an intermittent internet connection. For take-home exams, can I download the exam, work offline and then submit the assessment when I have completed it?
