What if my MAB impacted modules require resits? Can I still register for the next academic year?

You can register for the next academic year, even with marks missing due to the Marking and Assessment Boycott (MAB).

To understand which modules may require a resit, we would recommend you check your transcripts via S3P.

  • Modules which have ‘Deemed to have passed’ as the module decision will not require any resits, even if they return a failed mark.
  • Modules which have ‘Decision delayed’ against them on your transcript will require a resit if they return a failed mark.

The No Detriment approach allows students to proceed to the next stage of study, noting that any failed “decision delayed” modules will need to be retaken during the next academic year. You must ensure you are available during all term time periods and examination periods, so that your school can schedule your resits at the most appropriate time.

If you have several resits, you should consult with your Personal Tutor or Degree Programme Director about the best options for you to proceed with your studies.

If you had resits to take in August, the resit board of examiners will usually meet in the first two weeks of September (prior to induction week) to make progression decisions. Your school will be in touch to let you know of their decision and if you can re-register.

If you have problems with registering because of missing marks as a result of MAB, please email us at industrial.action.enquiries@ncl.ac.uk.
