What is the University’s commitment to safety on campus?

We are committed to ensuring that our campus remains a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community. 

The disturbances elsewhere in the country over the weekend of the 3 and 4 August are not representative of most people in our community, our region or the UK and this was made very clear when thousands of people across the UK held peaceful anti-racist demonstration on the evening of 7 August, including thousands of people gathering in Newcastle to show support and solidarity across communities.

We are working with the police to keep informed of developments in Newcastle and to ensure that we are responding accordingly to keep our students and colleagues safe.
