What action can I take if I am not receiving adequate teaching?
Guidance for students who are unhappy with the teaching they are receiving.
You have a right to receive a good standard of education. If you are not satisfied with the alternative provision and support you are getting and feel you are receiving poor quality teaching, you should raise the issue directly with your School. If, once you have spoken to your School, you feel that they have not taken sufficient steps to respond appropriately to the situation, you should contact the Student Progress Service to make a formal complaint to the University.
If you are unhappy with the outcome of your formal complaint you can request a review via the Academic Registrar’s office (email casework@ncl.ac.uk). If, after review, you remain dissatisfied, you can raise your issues with the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA)
