Industrial Action: Compensation

I have not been offered a payment but I feel like I should have received compensation as a result of disruption to my studies caused by the industrial action. How can I claim compensation?

The compensation offers that have been made to date are in recognition of missed teaching that has not been repeated or replaced in a timely manner up to the end of Semester 2 of the 2024-25 academic year. The compensation offer is based on the number of modules which have been recorded on our systems as having been disrupted by industrial action.

If your teaching was disrupted due to the industrial action and you have not been offered a compensation payment, you can make an individual complaint under the University’s Student Complaints and Resolution Procedure, providing information on which modules and sessions were disrupted.

A Quick Guide to the Student Complaints and Resolution Procedure is available and we recommend that you consult this before submitting your complaint. Please ensure that you submit full documentary evidence to support your case. Complaints will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the procedure.

Students who have questions about the compensation framework, can contact us via the Industrial Action Enquiries Form
