I need to quarantine/self-isolate, what should I do when I arrive in the UK?

Steps to follow when you arrive in the UK.

When you arrive in the UK you should travel directly to the accommodation where you will be self-isolating.

If you use public transport to get to your accommodation, please familiarise yourself with the government guidelines for using public transport safely. If you do use public transport, cover your nose and mouth and stay 2 metres apart from other people.

Pack a face covering or scarf to cover your nose and mouth before you travel. If you have coronavirus symptoms, you will not be allowed to travel by public transport and will need to demonstrate that the accommodation where you will self-isolate is safe.

If you have a long journey within the UK to arrive at your self-isolation accommodation, you can stop overnight in safe accommodation before continuing your journey. You must self-isolate and provide the address of your overnight stop on your passenger locator form in addition to your declared accommodation address in Newcastle.

If you need to quarantine on your arrival in the UK and are staying in University managed accommodation, you must email residences.admin@newcastle.ac.uk in advance of your arrival. When you arrive, you must then complete our Covid-19 Reporting Form. Please be sure to include the dates of your quarantine.
