Information and guidance for new PGR students who plan to be present in person on campus during Semester one.
We are preparing the campus in light of measures introduced in the North East of England to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in readiness for the start of the new academic year. The restrictions means that there will be reduced capacity on campus from 5th October 2020 and throughout Semester 1 for all students.
If you are a new Postgraduate Research student and are planning to be present in person on campus during Semester 1, (dates for Semester one and two can be found here) you should liaise with your Supervisor in the first instance to discuss arrangements for accessing the campus, buildings and workspaces. This discussion should take place before you attend campus. Access to facilities and capacity measures will be reviewed regularly.
Access to School/Institute buildings will be limited and working on a reduced capacity for both colleagues and students. Access will be organised on a rota basis. This includes access to all PGR spaces, such as offices, laboratories, studios and study/social spaces. Further information on your personal access arrangements will be provided by your School/Institute in due course.
