How will the University practice social distancing in teaching spaces?

Find out more about how social distancing will be practiced across teaching spaces.

The University has taken the decision to maintain a minimum physical distance of 2m in all teaching environments to ensure campus safety, whether that be in a teaching room or any other room where teaching is conducted eg teaching laboratories. This is to ensure the safety of all.

In addition to 2m physical social distancing, all colleagues and students must wear a face covering for the duration of the teaching session. We recognise that normal communication can be significantly impaired by the use of face coverings so teaching staff may choose an alternative that is suitable for them eg a full face visor, a face covering with transparent panel or a traditional face covering. The only exceptions to wearing a face covering would be where there is a medical reason.
