What evidence will I need to submit a Personal Extenuating Circumstances (PEC) form?

Guidance for students submitting a PEC form.

We have simplified the approval process for PEC during this period and you do not need to submit evidence or proof of extenuating circumstances pertaining to Covid-19 or health-related PEC requests for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year.

PEC requests could include your physical or mental health issues (Covid-19 related or other illness), specific or increased caring responsibilities, death of a close relative, lack of personal IT equipment, or equipment/broadband/software failure which have impacted your ability to work or submit an assessment. You must, however, explain the issues you have faced, the impact this has had on your studies, and a rationale for the requested adjustment to be eligible for a university/essay extension.

A PEC form should, wherever possible, be submitted in advance of the submission deadline and not retrospectively after receipt of marks and feedback.
