Will the national lockdown limit my ability to access on-campus teaching?

In October, following guidance from Public Health England, Newcastle City Council and the Department for Education (DfE), we moved to increased online teaching, also known as the Department for Education’s Tier 3. Under Tier 3 guidance, the University is required to increase the level of online learning and to retain only essential face-to-face provision. This decision was made to help to reduce rising numbers of Covid positive cases in Newcastle.

During the period of increased national restrictions, in force from 5th November until 2nd December 2020, we will continue to review the arrangements on a weekly basis, alongside Newcastle City Council, the Director of Public Health and Northumbria University.

For the time being, all programmes will continue to be delivered online unless in-person teaching is an essential part of the course.
