What is a Lateral Flow Device test?
Lateral flow devices (LFDs), are the type of test being provided to universities to test students ahead of the winter/Christmas break and on return in 2021. It is a clinically-validated swab antigen test that does not require a laboratory for processing and can turnaround rapid and accurate results within an hour. The test is designed to test people who are not displaying any symptoms of Covid.
