What are the social mixing guidelines on University campus, including in accommodation?

At present you are only able to socialise indoors with your household. A household consists of a group of students who share a flat. You can socialise outdoors with your household, or with one other person.

For students in University accommodation the following definitions apply:

  • In the Grand Hotel, a household refers to students who share a kitchen
  • In Castle Leazes (not ensuite), a household refers to students living on the same floor who share a kitchen

On 22nd February, the government revealed its roadmap for easing lockdown restrictions.

From 29th March outdoor gatherings of either 6 people or 2 households will be allowed. This includes in private gardens. At this point the ‘Stay at Home’ order will end, although many lockdown restrictions will remain.

The Government's full roadmap can be found here. Please continue to look out for regular updates from the Government as the roadmap may be subject to change.
