Offer Holder Day 2023 Travel Expense Form

Please read the following if you are looking to be reimbursed for the costs to change/amend existing travel arrangements.

Universities up and down the UK are experiencing disruption as a result of industrial action by the Universities and Colleges Union (UCU). This means that a number of lecturers in your subject area will be on strike, and therefore we are not able to host your visit.
Negotiations to resolve the dispute, which involves universities nationally, are ongoing. We hope that these discussions will resolve the issues, which are around pay, workload and conditions. If the current position changes, we will contact you immediately.
In the first instance we’d encourage you to book onto another event. If there have been any costs incurred, we will reimburse any costs you and up to one guest have incurred in changing your travel bookings to the new event date. If the cost of buying a new ticket is less than the cost to change your ticket, we will reimburse the cost of your original ticket. This reimbursement can only be claimed once.
More information about booking onto another date will be available in your original email. Please refer to that for more information. You may need to check your junk folders.
If you’re unable to attend any remaining dates and you have booked tickets, then we will reimburse the cost of your original ticket for you and up to one guest.
You can submit a claim here.
Once you have filled out the form, please send it to offerholders@newcastle.ac.uk. Your claim will be processed within 10 working days and reimbursement will be processed by our finance team.
If you and/or your parents, guardian or carer have specific questions about the Industrial Action, please submit your enquiry via this form.
We apologies for the inconvenience and hope that you are able to make alternative arrangements to visit us.
