I have heard there will be a marking and assessment boycott. When will this happen?

On 6 September 2023, the University and College Union (UCU) announced an end to the Marking and Assessment Boycott which has been in place since 20 April 2023.

All outstanding marking and assessment will be marked and our plan is to return missing marks as soon as we get them. In some cases, extraordinary exam boards will need to be convened and this means the process may take a little longer. Our aim is to have all missing marks returned by no later than the end of November.

Whilst the marking and assessment boycott was in place, the University implemented a ‘no detriment’ approach to ensure students whose assessments were impacted by the boycott could progress to the next stage of their programme, or graduate, with the reassurance that, where possible, their academic results would not be seriously affected by this industrial action.

You can find out more about the no detriment approach here.
