I am a new International Student, can I go home during the national lockdown period?

Under the new national restrictions which come into force from 5 November, the Government requires everyone to stay at their current home, except for specific purposes. This means students should not leave their term-time address to return home between 5 November and 2 December.

International students should be mindful that the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office currently advises against all but essential international travel. If students do travel home they are advised to check any restrictions in the country they are travelling to to determine whether they need to self-isolate on their return.

Any student who does decide to travel should adhere to Public Health England advice while in the UK to ensure they are travelling safely. Students should not travel if they have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) or are part of a household group that is self-isolating
