FAQs for Parents
I am a Doctoral or MPhil student, how will the marking and assessment boycott have potentially affected me?
We resolved to implement a “no detriment” approach to PGR decision-making in our academic processes. The aim of the approach was to ensure that where possible, you would experience minimal impact because of delayed examination, project approval or annual progress review outcomes and there was minimal disturbance to your future plans.
While we aimed to maintain the integrity of our awards and our obligations as a degree awarding body, our approach allowed Examiners/Deans of Postgraduate Study to use their academic judgement to make timely progression or award decisions, where possible to do so.
Our priority now that the marking and assessment boycott has ended will be to work through any delayed examination, project approval or annual progress review processes, as a matter of priority.
If you have any queries about a delayed process, please contact your Graduate School, who will be able to advise on the current status.
