How will the marking and assessment boycott affect my assessments?
On 6 September 2023, the University and College Union (UCU) announced an end to the Marking and Assessment Boycott which has been in place since 20 April 2023.
This industrial action meant that some students from the University, and thousands of other students across the country, graduated this summer without some of their marks.
Now that the boycott has ended the University is doing everything to get missing marks to students as quickly as possible.
All outstanding marking and assessment will be marked and the plan is to return missing marks as soon as they are received. In some cases, extraordinary exam boards will need to be convened and this means the process may take a little longer. The University’s aim is to have all missing marks returned by no later than the end of November.
