Guidance for students who may need to self-isolate on arrival in Newcastle.
Before Monday 17th May 2021
Currently, all international travellers must quarantine on arrival in the UK.
If you have travelled through or from a country on the UK’s red list, you will be taken to a designated quarantine hotel. If you have not travelled from or through a country on the UK’s red list, you must travel straight to your accommodation and complete your quarantine period there.
If you need to quarantine on your arrival in the UK and are staying in University-managed accommodation, you must email email@example.com in advance of your arrival. When you arrive, you must then complete our Covid-19 Reporting Form. Please be sure to include the dates of your quarantine period.
From Monday 17th May 2021
From Monday 17th May 2021, the UK will enter a ‘traffic light’ system for international travel.
- If you are arriving from a green country, you will not have to self-isolate on your arrival, and your travel test package will only include a test on day 2.
- If you are arriving from an amber country, you will be required to self-isolate in your own accommodation for 10 days. Your travel test package will include tests on both days 2 and 8.
- If you are arriving from a red country, you will be required to quarantine in a manged quarantine hotel for 10 days. Your travel test package will include tests on both days 2 and 8.
